The Center for Birds of Prey — Owl Mural
This project began as an original 12 × 16-inch colored pencil drawing created for the Center for Birds of Prey. The goal was to preserve the detail and texture of a hand-drawn piece while transforming it into artwork with a much larger visual presence.
The Project
The original artwork was created at a 3 by 4 ratio, professionally scanned, and enlarged approximately four times its original scale for installation at the center.
The Process
A detailed colored pencil illustration transformed into an approximately 4 × 5-foot mural-style display, allowing the character of the original drawing to remain intact at a dramatically larger scale.
